And, yes the Ice Castles and Kidtopia is on the list! So grab your cup of coffee, sit back and get ready to plan your next vacay because here are the top things to do in Silverthorne, Colorado.

Things To Do With Young Kids In Silverthorne, Colorado

  1. Ice Castles: Such a fun + cool experience! You can see it in person through my Instagram Story Highlights here. It’s a collection of “award-winning frozen attraction located in six cities across North America. The experience is built using hundreds of thousands of icicles hand-placed by professional ice artists. The castles include breathtaking LED-lit sculptures, frozen thrones, ice-carved tunnels, slides, fountains and much more.” My 2 and 4 year old had a blast walking through the ice sculptures and sliding down the slides!
  2. Visit Lake Dillon. We had some time to waste before the Ice Castles opened up, so we went here and I’m so glad we did. The views were incredible. The kids loved playing in the snow. Plus, they were able to get out some more energy before we sat in the car to go home!
  3. Outlets at Silverthorne: My kids actually did great here: pretty views, places for the kids to run around and shopping!
  4. Kidtopia at Keystone Resort: we had a blast here! Gondola rides, snow forts, slides, snow fights, wagons every where to haul things + tired kiddos. You can also check out my Instagram Stories Keystone Highlights for a-behind-scenes here. Even if you aren’t skiing down the slopes yet (hello 2 kids under 4!) they have a whole bunch of fun activities planned for the kiddos. Pro tip: DON’T EAT at the top, it’s way too busy for the generic cafeteria food they have. We ate at a pizza place at the bottom and it was delicious!
  5. If you’d like to visit Breckenridge you totally can because it’s about a 30 minute drive from Silverthorne. Or you can plan to do that the next day! The kids just liked walking around and seeing it covered in snow! We went the weekend of New Year’s Eve and it was still so beautifully decorated from Christmas. There lots of shopping with kids toy stores too! Also some yummy food options here.

Where To Eat

  1. Which Wich: We were going to go to Chipotle but the line was way too long. But this worked out great because the kids had a little healthier options!
  2. Pizza On The Run We actually got a 16” pizza with half cheese and half speciality and it was just enough for our family of 4! So glad we ended up eating here versus up on the ski slopes. There was a little wait, but it was worth it.
  3. Bakers Brewery: They have quality food that’s made from scratch, straight from the kitchen. I had their grilled cheese + creamy spinach soup and Chris had their Shepard’s Pie. They have your typical children’s menu. Good food, even better beer and it’s family-friendly!
  4. Timberline Craft Kitchen & Cocktails: This place was OK. I’m just including it because we ate there, but it wasn’t our fave. We thought it was going to be a little more laid back instead of “craft kitchen”. Just felt like they were trying to be too fancy for the food they had. I ordered their half Caesar salad and honestly had to order another plate to eat it on because they were trying to be too “cute” with their wedge salad on a tiny plate. Insert eye roll emoji. The fact they had a kids menu was one of the main reasons we went there. Just a heads up!

Where We Stayed:
La Quinta. Honestly, it was fine. It was a little over priced for what it was. But we needed some place that was dog-friendly so it was fine. Plus, you really only go back to the hotel for some down time. You’re mostly out doing fun adventures anyway!

I hope yall found this helpful! If you’ve been to Silverthorne, what else would you include? Let me know below, I love hearing from you!
